Hazards of Entrepreneurship

Dr. Blossom O’Meally-Nelson is the Chief Executive Officer of the Postal Corporation of Jamaica Limited and th

e Postmaster General for Jamaica. She was appointed the CEO of PostCorp in March 2000 and assumed duties as Postmaster General in September 2000.

Professionally, Dr. O’Meally-Nelson has been involved in a number of areas as an Educator, Management Consultant and Environmentalist. She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and holds a B.A. (Hons.) degree in Geography and Sociology, the post graduate degree in Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in Social and General Psychology.

Before joining PostCorp, Dr. O’Meally-Nelson served as Chief Executive Officer of the National Development Foundation of Jamaica which provides loans and technical assistance to small and micro-enterprises. The Foundation, under her leadership showed significant growth and received international attention.

Dr. O’Meally-Nelson was also instrumental in the transformation and upgrading of the College of Arts, Science and Technology (CAST) into the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTECH).

A dynamic communicator, with passion for public service, Dr. O’Meally-Nelson is a well-known public speaker, authored the book, “Hazards of Entrepreneurship,” and was host for the television programme “Businessline.”

Dr. O’Meally-Nelson holds a number of additional appointments, including Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council for the University of Technology, Jamaica; Chairman of the Jamaica Conservation and Development Trust and Director of the Board at the National Development Foundation of Jamaica.
