Colleen Smith-Dennis was born in the parish of St. Elizabeth and is a teacher of English. Her first published work was Inner City Girl (2009) which was nominated for the Impac Dublin Literary Award in 2011 and placed third in the Burt Award for Caribbean Literature in 2014.
